The Best Night Time Beauty Routine
At times it can feel like the day’s work is never done, between work, meetings, kids and cleaning. By the time night falls we’re all ready to hit the pillow hard! But before you crash you need to spend some time giving your skin some attention.
It may not seem important, but neglecting your skin at night can be a big mistake. At night our skin is more receptive to the ingredients in our skincare products because our cells regenerate faster at night. That gives a whole new term to the phrase “beauty rest”!
Step 1: Brush Your Teeth
Just as our skin is growing and renewing at night, unfortunately so is the bacteria in our mouth. So start by touching up those pearly whites! Give your teeth a good brushing and flossing, and of course some mouthwash for some added protection.
Step 2: Remove Your Makeup and Cleanse Your Skin
Honestly we are all guilty of going to bed every once in a while with our makeup still on and without washing our face. Chemicals in your makeup and any dirt that has gotten trapped throughout the day can seep into your skin and cause pimples and clogged pores.
After you have cleansed your skin, apply a toner to help tighten your pores and purify your skin. Just put a few drops on a cotton ball, gently dab over your face and let it dry. Now you’re ready to moisturize!
Step 3: Apply A Serum And Moisturize
Step 4: Apply An Eye Serum
The skin underneath our eyes is super delicate and is always in need of some TLC to hold off bags and fine lines. A good eye serum is the perfect way to refresh the area under your eyes so they are brighter and healthier.
Step 5: Keep Your Hair Off Of Your Face
Our hair at times can hang on to oil, bacteria or allergens which are not helpful for your skin! Try putting your hair in a topknot or a ponytail before you go to sleep. You’ll sleep better without hair and dust in your face.
Step 6: Moisturize Again!
Don’t forget to show the rest of your body some love too at night! If you sleep with heavy air conditioning on or a space heater, it may be drying out with your skin very quickly. In order to keep your entire body looking flawless and feeling soft, don’t forget to apply moisturizer to any areas that need it most!
Step 7: Keep Your Pillow Case Clean
Don’t let a filthy pillow case ruin your newly fresh skin! Change your pillow case once a week, or often enough to ensure that there’s no oily buildup undoing all your skin care.
Step 8: Get Plenty Of Sleep
This one is a given… Always make sure that you are getting plenty of sleep at night so your skin can rejuvenate and repair itself. Work on going to sleep earlier so that you can get a full eight hours every night. You will have more energy and feel better throughout your day too!GO BACK
